Macau: A Day At The Sin City Of Asia

Macau is the Sin City of Asia or also viewed as the little Las Vegas! For tourists who are up for some gambling, delicious egg tarts, city lights, and Portuguese structures, this place should not be missed.

That complicated stature on the left is the Hotel Lisboa, and that bronze facade on the right is Wynns.

Hotels Everywhere - Free Shuttles All The Way!

Outside the Macau ferry terminal, I was surprised to see the fancy shuttles owned by different hotels such as: the Venetian Hotel, Hotel Lisboa, Wynns, MGM, etc.

Mishap: I told Essa that those shuttles offer free rides but she didn't believe me. Instead, she encouraged me to follow a Chinese crowd that happens to be boarding on a shuttle. Upon getting inside the shuttle, those Chinese got perturbed and hand-signalled us to go away. It feels like they see us as hostage takers! Humiliating! LOL

After that humiliating experience, Essa and I followed a lesser crowd and settled our ass in a shuttle of Hotel Lisboa. From the terminal, the shuttle dropped us off to its hotel.

From Hotel Lisboa, we walked straight ahead (about 10 minutes) to get into the Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul.

While strolling around, Essa and I didn't miss the chance to try their egg tarts and pork jerky.

It is the store when Jan Di and the F4 of Boys Over Flowers bought their egg tarts when they visited Macau.
Dragon Treasure City Of Dreams at the Bubble

A friend of mine who once visited Macau told me:
"Please!!! never miss the Dragon Treasure show when you're in Macau because this will surely be one of the highlights of your Macau trip." And he's right, the show was awesome!

Show times are from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm (every 30 minutes). City of Dreams is located in front of the Venetian Hotel. Please watch the video below to know what I'm talking about.

To know more about this show, please visit the City of Dreams website.

Venice In Macau!

We also tried the gondola and as far as I remember, we paid160 HKD (about 900 pesos), who cares if it's pricey? Minsan lang naman. Also, the sailors/singers of the boats are Filipinos. Talented fellas!

Spending The Night A La Vegas!

(Inside - The Venetian Hotel)
Essa and I took the privilege to go here to play some baccarat (pronounced as ba-ka-ra) and some slot machines. We tried the Casino at the Venetian Hotel and it was a lively crowd. Fortunately, we won a little amount of cash from a slot machine. Her money plus my lucky hand = lucky night!

How To Get To Macau From Hong Kong?

From Hong Kong, you can take a ferry that will take you to Macau in an hour. In our case, we embarked at the Central. The other terminal is in Tsim Sha Tsui which both operates from 7am to 12 midnight. You can check the Macau ferry schedule and fare here.

Other places to visit are the Senado Square, and the Fisherman's Village.

It was a memorable trip for me and Essa, a night we'll never forget. After that, we went back to Hong Kong to continue our adventure:
