Breakfast At Bistro Amarillo

The early bird catches the worm!

Jen and I woke up early to start our Vigan city escapade but before that, we needed to take an energizing meal to keep us going throughout the day.

Breakfast At Bistro Amarillo
Bistro Amarillo is the in-house restaurant of Hotel Salcedo de Vigan (where we stayed) and part of our stay here, breakfast comes for free.

For the first time, I forgot my all time aversion to longganisa. Yes, I am not a fan of longganisas but this one changed my habituated loathing. Why? because it is not the archetypal longganisas served everywhere that has a fatty, squelchy consistency and looks swollen. This one just tastes right, appetizing, and not too oily.

If you will search this restaurant on the internet, you would know that this is a travelers' choice telling people that they offer the best tasting longganisa and bagnet in Vigan. A must try!

I found a perfect match here in Vigan!

Black coffee and balicutia (that tiny sugarcane candy). In Laoag, I was told by a woman that balicutia is a sugarcane candy that is also a great match for coffee.

If I only knew then that it's a perfect combo for a morning coffee, I should have bought packs of it. (Regrets!)

Chomping that sweet balicutia!
Pancakes, bacon and egg!
Go Jen! Pose!

Vigan food is so good that I really have to say that I am officially in love with it! Every serving is packed with flavours which makes me wonder what morsels they are made of. Needless to mention their other specialties: Bagnet, pinakbet, empanada, and okilas!

Location: Gen. Luna Vigan City 2700, Philippines
Price range: 100 pesos and up

Ang sarap ng longganisa, kakamiss naman. I think, I just have to make my own dahil wala ditong nabibilhan.

With yummy foods that come in cheap prices, Bistro Amarillo is probably one of the most visited restaurants in Vigan.
